DEFENDER Ryan Frater will miss the start of the season after suffering a hairline fracture to his leg in the friendly with Spurs at Clarence Park.

James Fisher is expected to move across from right back to centre back to cover the injury and Castle could look to sign experienced right back Lee Protheroe who was recently released by Chelmsford City and has previously played for Margate and Ebbsfleet United. Protheroe featured on Saturday at Boreham Wood before going off with a slight groin strain.

City go away to Cheshunt on Friday and return to Clarence Park on Tuesday to take on a Watford XI in their final friendly before the season starts. Both matches kick off at 7.45pm.
