GARY Fryer accelerated his progress in the latest round of the Kumho BMW championship at the world famous Brands Hatch circuit in Kent.
The St Albans racer, competing in class A, put his BMWm3 evo car on the grid in ninth place of the 26 cars doing an average speed of nearly 80mph per lap.
Gloomy skies were the order of the day for the race which would be over 14 laps of the circuit but there was no rain forecast.
Gary made a good clean fast start and was soon chasing the leading pack of cars. The leading cars were beginning to pull away but Gary was driving well and the car was also going very well indeed. As Gary took the chequered flag at the end of the race he had brought his car home in 10th position.
Sunday morning brought bright sunshine to the circuit as Gary went out fro his second race of the weekend. Gary made up a couple of places at the start of the race and had moved up into fourth place, chasing a podium spot when a couple of cars spun at paddock hill bend and the race was ended early. Gary finished fourth which he was delighted with.
The championship will now move on to Donington Park in Leicestershire in July. Gary is in ninth place in the class A championship and 19th overall out of the 30 cars registered to race in the series.
