Wheathampstead clinched the Division Two title on Saturday without kicking a ball. Wheato were without a fixture but their closest rivals Rickmansworth lost 2-1 to leave Wanderers three points clear at the top and champions elect.

This caps a great season for Wheathampstead who were an U16 side two years ago and have now been promoted twice in the West Herts League in successive seasons.

Alex Vaughan was top scorer this term with 32 goals making him third highest scorer in the league.

Seven of the players have been at the club since they were six years old and now leave to go to university so the team will be rebuilt in readiness for the next campaign.

Anyone interested in joining the team in the First Division should contact the manager Kevin Buckler on 07703 062518.
