Wheathampstead 2 Philippines United 3

Wheathampstead narrowly lost out 3-2 at unbeaten Philippines United on Saturday.

Wanderers went ahead early through David Bailey but trailed 3-1 until the final minute when veteran Jason Pawlaczek headed home.

Wheato were denied a potential equaliser when the referee failed to allow advantage and disallowed the goal to award a free kick instead.

Rory Scott was again outstanding in midfield.

The previous week Wanderers came from two goals down to beat Mill End Sports 5-2.

A Lee Cordell hat-trick and singles from Angus Raeside and David Bailey secured a second league win for Wheato.
