A GUTTED Steve Castle admitted his side had let the club's fans down after City were dumped out of the FA Cup at Heybridge Swifts on Saturday.

City went out with a whimper as they failed to exert any real pressure on the Heybridge goal and Castle says things at the club may need shaking up.

"I think (we need) a real juggle up really," said Castle after the match. "Let's be honest it starts from me downwards really and we'll just have to see. Like I say there'll be no rash judgements, I've given them little dilemmas in there but I'm not happy. Yes it was vital for us and we've let all the supporters down, we've let ourselves down and they've let me down and we've got to go onwards from this."

City's attacking players bore the brunt of Castle's criticism as the side failed to find the back of the net for the fourth time this season.

"(It was) not good enough from the front lads and not good enough in midfield bar Solomon Shields. (We were) poor wide whoever I played there.

"Other than trying to chase the game, we haven't had any clear cut chances. In the final third the amount of times we kept giving the ball away was frightening and how I feel at the moment the lads up top aren't good enough and that's what they've shown me."

The team's failure to find the back of the net consistently has really got Castle down and he has made it known that at present he's fallen out of love with the game.

"I'm really, really down and we'll just see," said the 43-year-old. "There's no rash decisions but I'm not in love with football at the moment that's for certain because all I want to do is win games of football in as good a manner as possible and it goes back to what I'm saying; if you can't finish you're never going to score.
