BISHOP'S Stortford's summer transfer spree has continued with the signing of former Maidenhead United captain Ashley Nicholls.

The Magpies have had to cut their wage budget and it was widely acknowledged that Nicholls would be moving to Woodside Park. The former Grays Athletic and Rushden man joins Charlie Sheringham and Louis Riddle as new faces at Stortford.

Blue Square South newcomers Woking have lost Player of the Year Paul Lorraine to AFC Wimbledon. The Dons fan has already played for the Wombles but wanted full-time football however following the Cards demotion the player jumped at the chance to move to Kingsmeadow.

Chelmsford City manager Jeff King has stepped into the boardroom to become the club's director of football. Day-to-day running of the team will be handed to first team coach Glen Pennyfather.

The TeamBath exodus continues with centre-half and captain Garry Warren signing for Newport County and striker Josh Llewellyn moving to Weston-super-Mare.
