Second-place London Colney have slammed eight goals in their last two Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division matches.

Colney beat newly-promoted Bedford 3-2 last Saturday thanks to a Lee Armitt brace and James Ewington’s solitary goal.

Dean Dummett scored a second late Bedford consolation to put the hosts on edge but they hung on.

On Tuesday night, Armitt took his personal tally to five goals in two games as he netted a treble at struggling Oxhey Jets in a 5-1 triumph.

Colney put league action aside this weekend as they host Southern League Division One Central’s Potters Bar Town in the FA Cup preliminary round.

Colney Heath remain in the Premier Division bottom three despite picking up a first three points of the season on Tuesday.

Heath defeated Biggleswade United 2-1 at home via goals from Jordan Willmore and substitute Ashley Rini.

Adam Drakulic replied for the visitors.

It was a much-needed victory following a 6-2 home hammering by FC Broxbourne Borough last weekend.

They next welcome Berkhamsted to the Recreation Ground this Tuesday night in the Premier Division Cup.

Harpenden Town have picked up just one point from their past two Division One games.

Town were downed by Luke Gregson’s hat-trick in a 4-0 reverse at home to Baldock Town on Saturday.

They picked themselves up on the road at Hillingdon Borough.

Substitute James Hill’s goal 20 minutes from time rescued a 1-1 draw.

Harpenden head to bottom-half Southall this Saturday looking for a return to form, having picked up six points from their opening three matches.
