PARK Street Village suffered a 3-2 home defeat on Saturday as they struggle to cope with injuries and suspension.

Pete Hanson is out for the season after breaking his shin against Met Police, an injury that has resulted in the midfielder having a steel plate inserted and, with Matt Newman, James Hill and Matt Day all currently suspended, PSV are short on options up front.

"We're struggling up front," manager Ryan Thompson told The Herts Advertiser. "Saturday was woeful. We didn't defend properly and too many players didn't turn up."

Dean Seabrook scored Village's first goal to draw them level, the youngster going round the goalkeeper before applying a cool finish.

However, further mistakes allowed the visitors to score two more goals before Lee Shackell converted a late penalty given for a foul on Ant Burns.

"The game wasn't as close as the scoreline suggested," added Thompson.

"We've had a lot of retirements so we've got a lot of young lads and we're looking to add some senior players in the coming weeks."

This Saturday sees the club make their long awaited return to Park Street and there will be events running throughout the day to celebrate the club's return to the Park Street Recreation Ground.

There will be a bouncy castle and a barbecue and members of the Parish Council will be present to mark the club's return home.

Croxley Guild are the first visitors to the Recreation Ground this Saturday, with kick off at 3pm.
