PARK STREET Village marked their return to Park Street with a good 2-0 win over Croxley Guild.

Two second half goals from Andy Murphy gave PSV all three points and boss Ryan Thompson was pleased to see his team get back to winning ways.

"I was pleased with it," Thompson told the Herts Advertiser. "We tried something different because we didn't have many forwards. The first half was poor, we were taking too many touches. It was quite boring to watch.

"We had a little chat at half time and tweaked it and they played a lot better in the second half."

Murphy scored his first 10 minutes after the break slotting home following Toby Ashcroft's excellent pass, and the PSV striker doubled his tally ten minutes later benefiting from some good work from Michael Cattermole before applying a cool finish.

"It was a brilliant pass from Toby Ashcroft; it was one touch and bang. It was good play all round," enthused Thompson.

"We brought Michael Cattermole on for his first game for the first team and he was brilliant, he made the difference.

"I'm pleased for Andy Murphy because we've played him out wide this season but he got his opportunity to go up front and took his goals well."

Speaking of the club's return to Park Street, Thompson said: "It's brilliant. The pitch is really good, all the players were commenting on how much easier it was to play on it. It was nice to see a lot of people there, there were a lot of old Park Street players turned up."

PSV are without a game this weekend, because there is a League Representative XI playing this weekend. Matt Newman's goalscoring heroics have earned him a spot in the side made up of players from the Herts Senior County League's two divisions.

Thompson has added to his squad with the signing of Chris Cutmore and the PSV boss is delighted with his latest acquisition.

"We've signed Chris Cutmore from Met Police. He is a quality player. He'll supply Matty Newman with a lot of goals. If we can get the best out of him and Dean Seabrook we'll have two quality players.
