PARK Street Village manager Ryan Thompson was disappointed as his side fell flat at Lemsford on Saturday in the Premier Division.

Following the euphoria of victory at Met Police Bushey in the Aubrey Cup, PSV were shackled by some miserly defending from Lemsford.

Matt Newman failed to convert a good early chance for PSV when he raced clear but hit a weak shot straight at the goalkeeper.

Young PSV goalkeeper Elliott Green replaced the injured Tony Kerby and was unfortunate with the opening goal as his fine save proved in vain and Lemsford leading scorer Matt Jones finished the rebound. Thompson said: "Elliott came in and did very well. He was just about the pick of the bunch for us. He made a good save to parry the ball but could do nothing when they got to the rebound. They reacted quicker, our defenders were just watching."

In the second half PSV conceded again with Jones cracking home another fine finish to seal victory for Lemsford. The home defence proved unbeatable as PSV struggled with their final ball.

Midfielder Pete Hanson was sent off for a lunging tackle and boss Thompson had no complaints with the decision. Midfielder Andy Ruck was then clipped in the box after a jinking run and Thompson said: "It was a penalty. He stayed on his feet though and was probably too honest. We couldn't fault the referee on anything."

Thompson is hoping for a better display from his side when they take on Mill End Sports away on Saturday.

l Sandridge Rovers were defeated 2-0 at home by Met Police Bushey on Saturday. Manager Kevin Barton will hope Rovers can rediscover their winning form when they host Hertford Heath this weekend at the Spencer Recreation Ground.
