MARKYATE were reduced to 10-men as they went down 4-2 at Tring Corinthians in Division Two on Saturday.

Tom Burton was sent off after 20 minutes of the first half when Markyate felt he was harshly adjudged to have handled a shot which was fired at him from just two-yards away. The resulting penalty was converted by Richard Shittu for Tring to take a 1-0 lead.

Tring went 2-0 up early in the second half when Ngogy scored but Markyate redoubled their efforts and it was hard to tell which side were down to 10-men.

Daniel Douglas found the net twice in quick succession with two headers from two excellent crosses. The Yate were on top and buzzing. Douglas was through again shortly after and was denied his hat trick and the chance to put the Yates in front. Markyate were left feeling aggrieved again believing Douglas was chopped down by the last man and no card was shown by the official.

The Yate continued to battle on but in the 87th minute Luke Byrne scored for Tring and Ngogy then got his second just before the final whistle for 4-2. Yate manager Scott Harvey praised his players. He said: "The result does not reflect the effort put in by my players, they played well and put everything into the game so although they lost they can feel pleased with their overall performance.
