London Colney’s hopes of a cup run in the FA Vase were snatched away from them by Yaxley.
The Peterborough-based side, nicknamed the Cuckoos, sent The Blueboys home on the end of a 3-2 defeat.
All the goals came in the second half with Jon Clements grabbing both for the visitors.
Colney started brightly, the 3G surface not proving an obstacle.
Stef Geraldes tested Andy Stevens in the home goal early on and Charlie Smith, Spencer Clarke-Mardel and Clements all went close.
It was a pattern that would continue for the remainder of the half.
Lee Close fired narrowly wide while both Tom and Charlie Smith had shots just the wrong side of the woodwork.
But despite their efforts, it was goalless at half-time and Yaxley were a different proposition in the second period.
Andy Furnell shot just wide after a good low cross from Matt Gearing before Kyle Nolan forced Charlie May to make a save.
But Yaxley soon made their mark, Daniel Cotton racing clear to fire beyond May.
And Cotton was involved in the second, his corner headed home by Sam Spencer.
It forced the Blueboys to try and reassert their dominance and on 84 minutes they gave themselves hope.
Charlie Smith played the ball into the box, Close headed on and Clements nipped in to flick the ball into the net.
As the match drifted into injury time the Blueboys had a glorious chance to snatch an equaliser but an unmarked Shaun Murphy put his header over the bar from six yards out.
There was still time for two more goals.
Jon Stead’s free kick deflected of the wall to put Yaxley 3-1 up before Clements reacted quickest after Stevens had pushed out a Charlie Smith effort.
It was not enough though and Yaxley will now face Berkhamsted in the next round.
