ST ALBANS City Ladies lost top spot to Stevenage Borough after losing 3-1 to them.

City Ladies started well but as they pushed for a goal they were punished with an effort that gave 'keeper Rebecca Atkins no chance.

Atkins produced a couple of saves to stop Boro increasing their lead but they eventually did only for City Ladies to immediately reduce the deficit thanks to a Ria Llewellyn goal.

As the Ladies pushed for an equaliser Boro hit a late third to kill off the tie. Claire Brown was named Player of the Match and Caroline Johnston also played well.
