THE Herts Advertiser Sunday League action was overshadowed at the weekend following the sad passing of Bradmore Rovers player Paul Jevon.

The 31-year-old was forced to leave the field after just 10 minutes of play during Sunday’s clash against Blackberry Jack after complaining of chest pains and after being accompanied by his father to hospital he passed away.

Team manager Stephen May said: “Paul was such a genuinely nice and kind guy who didn’t judge anyone and took everyone as they came.

“He loved life and always had a smile on his face. He was a good footballer and showed such determination and never gave up. Although a feisty fella on the pitch, this was just his passion for the game showing through.”

Having played in the Welwyn Hatfield Sunday League for many years for Rovers and other clubs he then joined O’Neills in the St Albans league for a season before re-joining Bradmore.

Paul will be sadly missed by all as a son, brother, friend and team-mate. Thoughts go out to his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

All HASL teams will hold a minute’s silence this Sunday.
