Chequers Inn upset the formbook in the Herts Ad Sunday League Division Two with a 3-2 win against NBOB Res.

Joe Geddes, Stuart Pearson and Chris Wilding got their goals with Ricky Wright named their star player.

Cameron Leijgrave and Daryl Hall scored for Breakspear.

There was better news however for NBOB’s first team as they beat Queens Head Sandridge 6-2 in the Premier Division, their third win on the trot.

Trevor Stevens and Adam Wallace both scored twice with David Parkinson and Devon Smith getting one each.

Sam Doolan and Matt Balser replied for Queens.

Skew Bridge fought out a 10-goal thriller with Nascot Arms, winning 6-4 with two goals apiece from Michael Davis and Ben Warren, plus Tony Golder and Ed Frost singles.

Two goals from Lee Newman and a Jefferson Oliveria single earned Stonewood a 3-3 draw against New Jacks who scored through Michael Wright, Wael Benatim and James Owen. Ant Burns was outstanding for Jacks.

Phoenix fell to a 1-0 defeat against AFC Rangers with Billy Smith scoring the lone goal.

Brookmans Park drew 0-0 with Blacksmiths Arms in a game of few chances in Division One. Tom Wilsher was outstanding for Park. Craig Parratt was Arms outstanding player.

Division Three saw an end-to-end game in which Oaks proved the better finishers, beating New Greens 5-1.

Star man Chris Coleman grabbed a hat-trick and Adam Hull and Tony Maher got one each.

Title contenders St Albans Irish defeated Stonewood Res 2-0 with goals from Chris Fearns-Purdue and John Armitt.

Rob Forty put in a starring performance for the Irish.

In Division Four Brookmans Park ‘A’ were on the wrong end of a 9-2 loss to AFC Mymms.

The in-form Ashley Fongo netted a hat-trick, his second of the season, Andre Skeggs and man of the match Simon Skeggs got two each with Alex White and Joe West chipping in with the others.

Park’s goals came from Dom Woolard and Paolo Besenzi.

William Bates was on fire for Skew Bridge Res, netting all four goals in a 4-2 win against Bridge House, as they moved into the next round of the Herts Intermediate Cup.

Wheathampstead ‘89 came away from Goffs Oak Comrades with a 3-0 defeat. They had to thank keeper Jamie Skelding for keeping the score respectable.

Snug Bar came back from Old Danes Ath with a fine 3-0 success. Goals came from Ali Morgan, Alex Songaila and Johnny Brown.

TNF recorded an excellent 4-0 score away to RH Social. Steven Orchard got two and there was one each for Phil O’Connor and Martin Van Heerden. Miles Gaffney was the TNF outstanding player.

Phoenix Res fell to a 4-1 away defeat against AFC Letchworth. Marc Winch netted their lone goal and Liam Heffer was their star player.

In the Herts Ad Intermediate Cup Royston Rangers came from 3-1 down at the break against Blackboy to win 4-3.

Tom Perry and Nathan Young shared the goals between them. Blackboy’s scorers were Kristian Melson, Matt West and Robert Trotter.

Brookmans Park beat Jolly Sailor 4-3 in a back and forth match. Two headed goals from Matt Brand either side of half time drew Sailor level before they gave away two soft goals.

Greg Moloney’s header proved a consolation only.

Danny Blyth supplied assists on all three of their goals and Mickey Sinnott was man of the match.

Park’s goals came from Mike Donkin, Patrick Doherty, Jasper Reimers and Danny Clarke.

High-flying Athletico Quat defeated Harpenden Colts OB 5-2. In-form striker and man of the match Darren Cavaree led the way with a hat-trick.

Other goals came from Shaun Hoyte and Jack Nevin with Marco Capontes replying for Colts.

Harpenden Rovers Blue recorded their best win of the season, defeating Harpenden Colts Res 7-1.

Their goals came from Tom Simonds (two), Ed Powell, Tom Jump, Michael Ross, George Naismith and an own goal.

Alex Dennehy replied for Colts.

Marshalswick Rovers beat CHL 5-1. Ali Bart opened the scoring and two from Rulo Mendoza and one from Tony Lees put them 4-0 up before CHL pulled one back through Daler Bhaker. Tony Lees then added his second late on to kill the game.
