The match proved to be a real classic between two evenly-matched sides with the conditions adding to the spectacle.

James Rourke and Paul Carsons scored for Oaks for whom Phil Douglas was outstanding.

St Albans Rangers put in a disappointing performance when held to a 2-2 draw against Primary Care.

Ryan Dixon-Bold and Robert Durrant scored for Rangers.

Absent Wheathampstead Swan manager Terry Harris would have been proud of an outstanding performance by his team in the Knockout Cup but they eventually lost 4-1 to Stonewood.

Swan went a goal down early but after Tom Simmonds had been brought down in the box, he got up to make it 1-1 at the break.

Both sides played some fine football after the break and it looked as if the game would go to extra-time.

But Stonewood’s pressure in the last 15 minutes was too much and they scored with three quick strikes.

Lewis Field, Moni Giesse, Ashlee Kissiedo and Grant Macaree scored their goals.

Queens Head moved into the semi-final following a 5-2 win against Skew Bridge Res.

Goals came from Dave Corran (two), Sam Doolan, Khalid Ismail and the outstanding Jack Faulder.

Simon Beazley and Will Bates scored for Skew Bridge.

In the Intermediate Cup, Cannon Res put in an excellent show to defeat Division Three side Camp Victorians 3-2 with two goals from John Armitt and an Ian Hutchinson single.

Sam Bozier’s two goals were enough for Phoenix A to move into the next round of the Junior Cup with a 3-0 win over Marshalswick Rovers.

Blacksmiths Arms only had 11 players and played with a striker in goal in their narrow 2-1 Premier Division loss to Skew Bridge.

Arms started brightly and went a goal up after a great crossfield ball found Jake Attwood.

But from then on it was backs to the wall as Skew pushed forward in search of an equaliser which eventually came from Andy Saul.

And he got the winner, firing home from a corner.

Skew’s man-of-the-match was Tom Warren while Lee Sturgess was outstanding for the Arms.

Goals from Nathan Jackson and James Owen couldn’t save New Jacks from going down 3-2 against Nicholas Breakspear OB.

In Division Three, Queens Head Reserves’ good form continued with a well earned 2-2 draw with Cannon.

Goals from Jak Hamilton and a man of the match performance from George Elliott were the main highlights.

Cannon’s goals came from Louis Apps and Andrew Cullen.

And in Division Four, Royston Rangers raced into an early 2-0 lead but were eventually overhauled by league leaders Stonewood Res, losing 3-2.

Two from Tom Mardle and one from James Millard gave Stonewood the win.

Rob Carragher and Dom Lynch replied for Rangers.

White Horse also had to come from behind to make it eight league wins on the trot with a 4-3 victory over Athletico Quat.

Jon Cavaree and Louis Minerva put Quat 2-0 up at half-time.

But goals from Gary Farrow, Michael Blanchard, Matt Pond and an own-goal, together with a fine performance from Mark Farmer, put them in charge.

Kamil Kredikov got a late third for Athletico.

The outstanding James Jankawski was on the mark for Brookmans Park ‘A’ along with William Cousins and Grant Noble in a 3-0 win against CHL.
