Barmond United 1

St Albans Wanderers 4

PLAYING free-flowing football, Wanderers totally dominated their Stevenage hosts on Saturday and returned with three more points in the bag.

Coming on for injured club captain, Jon Sergeant, after just 10 minutes, Rich Francis opened the scoring with his first touch of the ball and then netted a second just 15 minutes later.

In between, and against the run of play, Tom Bayford curled in Barmond’s only goal, from a free kick on the edge of the penalty area.

For the remainder of the game, it was one way traffic, with the visitors peppering their opponents’ goal. Despite this dominance only two more goals were added, both scored by Man of the Match, Shaun Gibson, pictured left.

On Saturday, Wanderers travel to Toulmin Drive for a 2pm KO against Global FC.
