A SPECTACULAR goal from Ricky Farmer lifted London Colney reserves to victory at home to Oxhey Jets on Tuesday in the Molten Spartan South Midlands Reserve Division One.

Hayden Connell went close twice for Colney early on and Darren O'Toole fired just over the crossbar.

Steve Noonan had the first effort for Oxhey when he headed over the top and Adam Lowton drilled a shot wide.

Farmer scored the only goal of the game from the half-way line when he lofted the ball forward and, wind assisted, it sailed over Oxhey goalkeeper Chris Walker and into the net.

Some vital work at the other end from Farmer helped secure the clean sheet when he headed clear a dangerous free kick. Connell went close to a second for the Blueboys and Oxhey nearly grabbed an equaliser when Gary Page struck the crossbar.

London Colney: Deane, Benning, Farmer, Dumpleton, Crowe, Sergeant (Hill), Ames, Doolan, White, Connell, O'Toole (Ward). Unused subs: Azzopardi, Othman.
