MATT Day scored for Park Street Village as they drew 1-1 with Bovingdon in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division on Saturday.

Manager Ryan Thompson had a small squad to pick from due to injuries and suspensions. His side started well with Day opening the scoring on five minutes and then almost netting a second when he ran clear of the visiting defence.

The poor pitch at Toulmin Drive made conditions difficult and PSV lost Matt Day to injury. Substitute Joe Meija then broke down but had to stay on with Thompson having used his only two replacements.

Bovingdon missed a penalty in the second half before they eventually struck an equaliser to secure a point.

PSV go away to Standon & Puckeridge this weekend and Thompson said: "We have nine players out and it is lucky the reserves haven't got a game because I am taking seven or eight with me. If we get a point I will definitely be happy with that. We could cope with this in Division One but not in the Premier Division. It is tough.
