CITY new boy Danny Charge is pushing for a place in the starting line up for tonight's game with Welling United after impressing in his previous two outings.

Charge scored on his City debut against Bromley and he is hoping that it's the first of many during his stay at Clarence Park.

Speaking of his debut, Charge said: "I just wanted to come and get some minutes and try and score some goals. I got 15 minutes and scored one so it's always good."

The young striker says he is hoping to play well while at Clarence Park and impress manager John Still at parent club Dagenham.

"I've got to prove myself. I've come down here for a month to show what I can do and hopefully score some goals and then hopefully the gaffer back at Dagenham will give me a chance."

This is Charge's third loan spell of the season having played at Potters Bar, where he scored five goals in four games, and most recently Hitchin Town.

City are currently struggling in the League but Charge is hopeful that they can turn their fortunes around.

"At the moment they're not in the best of runs but hopefully we'll turn it around and get some points on the board.
