A STIRRING comeback from London Colney saw them take all three points despite being 2-0 down.

The Blueboys got off to the worst possible start when, with only 68 seconds on the clock, Andy Wright found Paul Talbot who headed home at the near post to give Winslow the lead.

The Blueboys nearly hit back when captain Dan McCafferty's cross was met by Greg Shaw but his effort was deflected over the bar.

Gary Simmonds' corner was met by Ian Cooper but he headed wide and then disaster struck as Winslow doubled their lead.

Wright again was the architect crossing for Luke Bithead to head home from close range and leaving Colney stopper Richard McCabe no chance.

The Blueboys probed for an equaliser but it didn't look like it was going to be their day that was until they received a large slice of good fortune.

With 24 minutes gone Shaw struck a fierce drive from 20 yards that Winslow 'keeper Gary Wiltshire initially saved but somehow the ball spun out of his hands and crept slowly over the line.

Jack Rowley flashed a shot wide of the post and then saw another shot saved by Wiltshire.

Cooper wasted three chances early in the second half and Dave Corran had a shot turned around the post.

Colney's pressure eventually paid off as they grabbed a deserved equaliser.

Cooper's corner fell to Mark Paradise on the edge of the box and he struck a superb volley that rocketed into the back of the net with just 10 minutes remaining.

The goal gave the home side the impetus to push on and get a winner and they duly obligied with two minutes remaining.

Lee Benning slipped the ball into Cooper who raced past the defence and slotted the ball between Wiltshire's legs to give Colney the points.

London Colney: McCabe, Humbert, McCafferty, Rolwey (Danslow), Paradise, Dickie, Gallgher, Benning, Cooper, Shaw, Simmonds (Corran). Subs not used: Caines.
