LONDON Colney hit six to beat Stony Stratford Town at Cotlandswick on Saturday in the Division One.
Defender Tom Dickie headed clear a dangerous cross from Shaun Carr as Colney came under early pressure. Carr also flashed a shot just wide of the post for the visitors.
The Blueboys went close when a snapshot by Paul Danslow brushed the far post and midfielder Greg Shaw struck a good volley that threatened the target.
In the 20th minute London Colney went 1-0 up when Cain Davey delivered a measured cross from the right flank and Danslow sent a powerful header into the back of the net from 10 yards.
Six minutes later Colney claimed a second to take command of the fixture. Danslow turned his marker inside the box and cracked the ball home to double his tally. The menacing Danslow almost helped himself to a hat trick but, after twisting and turning inside the box, he saw his shot flash narrowly wide.
Ricky Foster shot just wide for Stony Stratford Town and Colney goalkeeper Alistair Hill had to make a tremendous save to keep out a stinging drive from Michael McKenzie.
Colney went 3-0 up on the stroke of half time when Russell Gallagher cut in from the left and beat two defenders before striking the ball past the Stony Stratford goalkeeper for a spectacular solo goal.
Early in the second half, Carr hit the post for Stratford as they pressed forward and minutes later the same player fired a shot over the crossbar. The visitors struck a goal back when Foster's corner was fumbled by Hill and Stuart Young headed the ball home at the far post.
Nine minutes later it was 3-2 and Colney were rocking. Foster teed up McKenzie who slotted the ball home.
London Colney quickly hit back when Greg Shaw's free kick found Josh Humbert in the box and he swivelled and drove the ball high into the roof of the net.
Defender Mark Paradise headed just wide at the far post following a corner from Danny McCafferty while at the other end, Lee Gorrell had to make a timely clearance to avert the threat from Stony Stratford Town. Flamboyant striker Jermaine Davey replaced Paul Danslow and took just a minute to make an impression when he surged clear and shot home.
Midfielder Gary Simmonds had a shot blocked before Gallagher and Jermaine Davey interchanged for Davey to blast home his second and seal the 6-2 win.
