Two wins in four days have catapulted London Colney into the top eight in the SSML Premier Division.

On Saturday, still reeling from last week’s Herts Charity Shield final loss to Hertford Town, the Blueboys had to battle for everything against 15th-placed Cockfosters.

The breakthrough came in the second half when Tom Massey, pictured below, trying to clear a cross, diverted the ball into his own net.

Then, on Tuesday, Colney eeked out another 1-0 win, against St Margaretsbury.

The Blueboys had to play much of the second half with 10-men after Dan Power was sent off for dissent. Jack Woods’ saved his team-mate’s blushes with a 90th minute winner.
