St Albans Wanderers 2 Global 2

IN a classic 'game of two halves', the spoils were shared by two evenly-matched teams. In the first half, Global took the game to Wanderers but were repeatedly thwarted by a resolute defence.

Having soaked up the pressure for 10 minutes, Wanderers scored on the break. A Global free-kick was cleared downfield to Ashley who lashed the ball home on the volley. Global continued to attack and got their reward, Sheehan strolling past a static Wanderers defence to tap the ball in from close range.

In the second half it was Wanderers who took the initiative and the lead with Owen running in on the blind side to sidefoot home a clever through ball.

With time running out, Global pressed for the equaliser and it appeared that Wanderers would keep them out. However, Sheehan again hit the net with a looping shot from outside of the box to earn the visitors a point.
