Ten-point deduction stands

ST ALBANS City’s appeal against the Football Association’s decision to dock the club 10 points and hand them a 7,500 fine was rejected on Friday.

The Saints had produced new evidence which they claimed wasn’t available to them for the original hearing but while the FA considered this new evidence the appeal panel decided the original decision should stand.

A statement on the club’s website read: “Based on the future plans of the club, the FA decided not to increase the financial penalty or to deduct further points”.

The club’s website also stated that there would be a further update to the club’s fans “shortly”.
