FORMER Parmiter’s School student Nathan Byrne has signed for Swindon Town.

The 21-year-old defender was on the books at Tottenham Hotspur but had been on loan with the League One side since March.

He previous loan spells include Brentford, Bournemouth and Crawley.

He is not the only former St Albans schoolboy making headlines in the football world; Tom Gardiner, 18, an ex-Verulam student, has recently signed his first professional contract at Hibernian.

Another Spurs youngster, Gardiner penned deal with the Scottish Premiership side’s academy to play with the U20s.
