THE newly promoted Men's First Team at Elliswick LTC marked their first ever match in the Herts Intermediate Division with a hard fought 5-4 victory over West Herts III.
The win was secured by the lead pair of Joe Johnson and Sam Harrison who won all three of their rubbers.
Second and third pairs Maurizio Borgatti & Rob Wright and Simon Lowe & Harry Wright each won one rubber.
The match was also notable in that two late injury withdrawals meant brothers Rob and Harry Wright stepping late in to first team action and responding with assured individual performances.
Elliswick now have five remaining matches with which to consolidate their Intermediate status.
