The Primary Schools’ representative football squad went en masse to Gloucester on Saturday hoping to improve on the relatively poor record at Longlevens.
The B squad were up first and dominated the early stages, with Teddy Ruddick putting the young Saints into the lead, but a strong Gloucester side scored two very quick goals just before half-time. Despite having prolonged periods of the second half, the Saints conceded another goal to finish up on the wrong end of the 3-1 scoreline.
The A squad went the other way and had to come from behind to lead 3-2 at half-time with goals from Jude James and two from Sean Walsh. Gloucester had the better of the second half and equalised right from the restart but the final score was 3-3 with a very good performance.
This week’s game is on Friday evening at Colney Heath FC against local rivals Potters Bar. Kick-offs are 6.30pm and 7.40pm.
