STRIKER Lee Clarke is rated doubtful for the trip to Dorcester Town on Saturday and defender Ryan Frater is expected to miss another three to four weeks.

City manager Steve Castle said: "Lee is touch and go for Saturday and the Saturday after is probably more realistic."

The boss knows it is imperative his side quickly turn their impressive approach play into goals in the coming weeks to avoid losing ground to the fast starters in the league. He said: "The football that has been played has been exceptional and we have created so many chances. If those chances were not being created we really would have to go back to the drawing board. Anyone who has been at the games will know we could and should have wrapped up both games by half time."

Three points and some goals at Dorchester Town would provide the lift the club are looking for following the disappointing tally of one point from the opening two fixtures. Castle said: "I will be happy with a clean sheet at Dorchester. If we have a clean sheet at 20 to five I know we have got enough about us to have created enough chances to have won the game."

Right back Lee Protheroe and striker Tom Youngs are both likely to be involved in the squad again after coming off the bench against Worcester City on Monday.

The St Albans City Supporters Club are running a coach to Dorchester Town on Saturday departing Clarence Park at 9am. The cost is £19 for Adult Supporters Club Members and £12 for junior members. To book call Ian Bangs on 07733 381874 or Peter Knock on 01727 847484.
