PRESIDENT Stuart Mather was joined by 24 guests/members for the tour to Eastbourne where the weather was absolutely superb and assisted the District in winning three of their four matches drawing the other any snippets of scandal stay on tour never to be repeated.

It was unfortunate that due to his health Stuart could not fully participate but his members did him proud.

The tour started at Hampden Park where the District secured a draw with the last wood bowled by St Albans stalwart Dave Kiff.

This was followed by a 10 shot win over Seaford where the hospitality was excellent and the District were invited back to help celebrate the club centenary.

Wednesday saw the District play Parade who had advised they were rather weak as a club at present and so it proved as the District won by 56 shots.

This was followed by a 26 shot win over Newhaven on the Thursday. The lady guests won one of their four matches but contributed fully to the enjoyment of the tour.

Friday saw the men and ladies combine in a six rink mixed game at Eastbourne who won by 43 shots the one shining light was the winning rink skipped by Reg Collins.
