TOWNSEND bowling club have enjoyed a lucrative August with four district finals to compete for and the Bob Vise Trophy.
The battle for the Bob Vise Trophy takes place at Townsend on Monday, August 25 starting at 10am. Townsend face Welwyn Garden City and spectators are welcome.
Townsend also have finalists in the district pairs triples and two-wood triples to be played at Clarence Park, St Albans, on Saturday, September 13, with a competitive day of bowling starting at 10am.
Last Saturday Townsend defeated local rivals Batchwood in the District League with the last wood of the game from president Stuart Mather, to claim a one shot win and a 50 points to 30 score. Victory takes Townsend into the top three. The club are building up to the conclusion of their season with club finals played on Sunday, September 7. Spectators are welcome. The action starts at 10am.
