VERULAM Swimming Club's James Devine finished third in the European Biathle Championship, which doubled up as qualifiers for the World Biathle Championships held at Salford Quays in Manchester.
The impressive result qualified James to represent Great Britain in the world event in South Africa in November. James has been training for the swimming and running and all his efforts paid off in only his second ever Biathle.
Georgina Thornton finished sixth in her age group and, as a reserve, must now wait to hear if she makes the trip. Her brother, James Thornton, came 13th in his race.
