London Colney came from behind to defeat nine-man Colney Heath 4-1 in a typical blood and thunder derby at the Recreation Ground.

The first three goals came in the space of five first-half minutes.

Dave Parkinson put Colney Heath in front but Bobby Armstrong and Kembo Smith turned the tables.

Kit Brown made it three in the second half before Dan Power and manager Ryan Thompson were sent off for the Magpies.

Brown got his second with 15 minutes to go and Jimmy Hill’s sending off in the 90th minute completed a miserable night for the hosts.

Other than the goals it was a fairly even half.

Both sides had a chance within the opening five minutes.

Osama Allman had the first inside 60 seconds but he blazed over at the far post despite bing unmarked.

Then a long ball from the left back position found Brown in behind but his attempted lob over the keeper went wide.

Yellow cards were a feature of the first half with three Magpies and one Blueboy having their names taken.

Parkinson fired the hosts in front with a drilled free-kick from the edge of the area which flew low into the bottom corner.

But another free-kick brought parity.

Laurence Vaughan whipped it in and after it wasn’t claimed Armstrong rolled the loose ball home.

And two minutes late the turnaround was complete with Smith belting the ball home from 20 yards out.

The Magpies management clearly wanted more hompson was not a happy man at the break, bringing his troops out early and making two changes.

It made no difference as after Dan Power became the fifth man in the book, Kit Brown made it three with a shot across goal and into the corner.

Then came the controversial decision which ended the game as a contest.

Power had been spoken to just before but the flashpoint did appear to just be a coming together with Brown.

However, the official decided both men were guilty of a bookable offence and therefore Power walked.

So too did an incensed Thompson after vehemntly disagreeing with the decision.

Brown’s second was all done to Smith who turned Sam Doolan inside out before firing his shot across goal and off the post.

The tap-in from the rebound was no problem.

More bookings followed for both teams before substitute Hill went as the clock moved into injury time.

It summed up a bad night for Colney Heath but made it two wins from two for the new-look Blueboys.
