FORMER Herts county player Brian Davis brought his season's winnings on the US Tour just short of the million dollar mark as for the second time he just missed out on a first tour victory.
Playing in the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open the day before his 34th birthday, he was within sight of that elusive win after rounds of 67 67 68, then in a repeat of earlier events, he fell away to a three over par 75 for an 11 under par total of 277 and a tie for second place. He won $264,000, and a tie for 50th place after a final 75 in the later Deutsche Bank event at Boston brought his season's total to $944,835 for 89th place in the moneylist.
Last season he finished on his own in second place in the St Jude Classic.
