City of St Albans (CoStA) Swimming Club defended its Hartham Bowl Gala trophy on Saturday.
Organised by Hertford Swimming Club, the B team started the night with two first places for the girls and boys U13 medley relay. They continued in fine form, clocking up an impressive 25 first places.
Leading on points throughout the night, they stormed to victory with a 33-point advantage over second placed Berkhamsted. Not content with retaining the Hartham Bowl itself, the team also went on to win the relay trophy, securing a double victory.
Meanwhile, on Sunday evening, CoStA’s younger swimmers competed in the club’s own John Hempenstall Memorial U10s Gala. Keen to practice their racing skills, the youngsters put in some great performances, picking up numerous PBs.
Head coach Stewart Melton said: “I was inspired by the many fantastic swimmers coming up through the ranks. Well done to all who competed.”
