The Magpies fell behind to an 18th minute goal but Kelly Hancock restored parity following an excellent through ball from Holly Sheridan.

Goalkeeper Sasha Tucker pulled off a diving save to keep the scores level but there was nothing she could do about Hoddesdon’s second after the referee had awarded a penalty. A third in the 36th minute gave Heath a mountain to climb.

An opportunistic goal from Molly Slade reduced arrears before the break.

The weather conditions deteriorated in the second half, as the winds and torrential rain buffeted the players. No more goals were scored and the game ended 3-2 in favour of Hoddesdon.
