Colney Heath has found a club to share its ground during the 2014/15 season.

Hatfield Town, who finished second from bottom in the SSML Premier Division, have agreed to play its home games at the Recreation Ground next season, having spent the last campaign at Gosling Stadium in Welwyn Garden City.

The Magpies have been looking for a team to share to the ground in a bid to boost the club’s revenue since St Peters folded at the start of the season.

Speaking earlier this season, club spokesman Nick Sanders said: “We’re offering the ground to maximise revenue. At the moment we only get money when we’re at home so we could double the revenue from the bar if there was a team playing there every week.”

After a third placed finish in the league and Herts Charity Shield glory on Tuesday night, the agreement with Hatfield is another step in the right direction for Colney Heath.
