London Colney’s climb up the SSML Premier Division table was boosted with six points in two games.
Building on Saturday’s 4-1 win, which saw Greg Shaw, Martin Collins, Matt Newman and Spencer Clarke-Mardel on target, the Blueboys shrugged off a late start due to a floodlight failure to beat Hoddesdon Town 2-0.
After firing out of the blocks from the first whistle, Collins finally gave Colney the lead in the second half. The winger gave the goalkeeper no chance with a shot from 16 yards that found the bottom corner.
Blueboys’ second goal was not long coming. Clarke-Mardel picked up the ball 25 yards out and sent a rocket of a shot past Reece Buck, who just watched it fly past him, to give Colney a 2-0 lead.
The reserves drew 3-3 with Kings Langley on Tuesday night. All the goals were scored by Jimmy Warner.
