City of St Albans Swimming Club (CoStA) “exceeded expectations” after the second round of the Arena National League at Hertfordshire Sports Village.
The club finished in seventh position in the London Premier Division gala last weekend, just one point behind nearest rivals Enfield Swim Squad.
However, CoStA swimmers produced some sterling performances, all of which pleased head coach Mike Cole.
He said: ““We achieved an excellent result in the first round and were hoping for something similar in the second.
“Our talented swimmers exceeded expectations, with an even better team performance against a very tough class of competition.”
The evening, which saw a flurry of personal best times, also saw Jessica Laitner take second place in the girls U15 breaststroke a feat also achieved by William Loveman in the boys’ event and Lauren Stott in the U13 butterfly.
Oscar Brice finished third in the boys 10/11 backstroke and Jessica Patrick was also third in the girls U13 backstroke.
