ROSS Clarke of the Verulam cycling club won the Bossard Wheelers 10-mile time trial on Saturday with a time of 21 minutes 20 seconds. The impressive display at the event, held on the A505 near Leighton Buzzard, came off the back of a 500-mile training week in Riccion, Italy. Other Verulam members in the event were Steve Clarke (seventh), Ian Brazier (11th) and Malcolm Jenkins (24th).

Luke Clarke broke the Verulam Cycling Club 25-mile time record on Saturday with a time of 51 minutes 37 seconds in the an event organised by the South Pennine cycling club on the A50 Derbyshire.
