A HAT-TRICK from Kate Clarke inspired St Albans City Ladies to a 4-1 win away at their Arlesey counterparts.

Despite the scoreline it was City goalkeeper Claire Brown who was the busier of the two 'keepers early on.

The Ladies survived this early pressure though and they soon got a foothold in the game.

Sofia Munoz, who was in top form, fired narrowly wide before City broke the deadlock.

Hannilee Fish sprayed the ball out to Ria Llewellyn who swung over a low cross for Clarke to divert into the top right hand corner for her first goal.

The lead was short lived though as Arlesey Ladies struck back with a low strike from the edge of the box to level the scores.

The Ladies regained the lead when the Arlesey 'keeper couldn't hold onto Tiffany Harbron's initial shot and the City player made no mistake with the rebound.

Then Clarke took over. Harbron and Fish combined to set up Clarke who fired across the 'keeper and inside the far post.

Clarke completed her hat-trick when the ball ran kindly for her and she fired home from 12 yards out.

There was still one final moment for the spectators to cheer when the popular Hamdi Ali won two fine headers.

The Player of the Match award was given to Tay Jobson who was brilliant at centre half.
