St Albans City Youth Fooball Club chair of trustees Mervyn Morgan scooped the lifetime achievement accolade at Herts Sports Partnership’s Service to Sport awards.
Morgan has been with City Youth for almost 30 years, during which he led a number of key projects for the club such as the pitches at Highfield Park and the all weather pitch at Nicholas Breakspear School.
He said: “This is a great honour but there are many deserving people within the club.”
