St Albans City v Chelmsford City

Saturday, December 5 - 3pm KO

Season so far: As an outsider looking in, Chelmsford appears to have had an inconsistent season so far. However, they say the table doesn't lie and with the Clarets currently sat in fifth place one could argue they are performing well.

Two victories in their first two games of the season suggested Chelmsford would be battling it out at the top of the table again this season. However Glenn Pennyfather's side failed to win any of their next five league games, losing four but drawing 1-1 with Dover Athletic.

The Clarets then went on a three game winning run only starting with a 2-0 win over the Saints, only to then lose their next two matches.

Chelmsford's yo-yo season continued with successive victories over Welling and Bishop's Stortford only for the Essex side to win just one of their last six outings.

Last meeting: A goal in each half gave Chelmsford all three points when the two sides met at Melbourne Park in September.

Antonio Murray struck first firing past debutant Michael Emery before Chelmsford's giant striker Rob Edmans added a second to kill off any hopes of a City comeback.

Players: Adam Everitt is back in contention despite still struggling with a hernia. The former Bromley man is awaiting an operation but will play through the pain barrier if required to.

Manager Steve Castle is unlikely to make major changes to the starting XI following a 2-0 win over Basingstoke Town on Tuesday night.

Ricky Holmes is the man in form for Chelmsford. The flying winger has scored five goals in the club's last six games including the only goal as the Clarets beat Welling United at Park View Road in their last outing.

Former City favourite Ben Martin will be hoping for a recall to Glenn Pennyfather's starting XI after recovering from injury. The big centre half has only started five games since switching to Melbourne Park in the summer having been plagued by injuries. However Martin has made the subs' bench for four of the Clarets' last five games so a return to the starting XI at Clarence Park is possible.

Referee: Neil Hair (Peterborough) assisted by P Howard and S Purkiss.

Mr Hair's last visit to Clarence Park was for the 1-1 draw with Lewes.
