Weymouth v St Albans City

Saturday, September 19 - 3pm KO

Where: Wessex Stadium, Radipole Lane, Weymouth, Dorset, DT4 9XJ (Tel: 01305 785558)

Who: Weymouth dropped into Blue Square South this summer after being relegated from the Blue Square Premier last season. The club has been blighted by financial problems over the last few years and they recently raised 50,000 in eight days to keep the club afloat.

Former TeamBath coach Matty Hale was bought in as the club's manager during the summer and he has had the task of rebuilding the team.

Season so far: The Terras have had a difficult start to the season and currently find themselves at the foot of the table.

Hale's side began the season with a 1-1 draw at Lewes but consecutive home defeats to Eastleigh (0-5) and Bishop's Stortford (2-6) seem to suggest it's going to be a long season for Weymouth.

A 1-1 draw with Maidenhead followed before the Terras picked up their first and only win of the season with a 2-1 defeat of Worcester City. Four consecutive defeats followed including a 5-1 thrashing at home to Bromley.

There was better news last time out for Hale though as his side earned a creditable draw away at Newport County.

Last season: With Weymouth spending the previous three seasons in the Blue Square Premier, the last time the two sides meet was back in 2007 when City were also in Non League's top division. A Djoumin Sangare goal was all that separated the two sides when they met at Clarence Park.

The Saints last trip to the Wessex Stadium ended in a 2-1 defeat as two Wayne Purser goals in the last ten minutes helped cancel out Paul Hakim's opener.

Players: There is only one player with connections to City in the Weymouth squad and that is Hector Mackie. However Mackie, who joined the Terras in the summer after moving to study at Bath University, hasn't played a league game for his new club after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament.

Weymouth will also be missing striker Josh Klein-Davies who picked up a hamstring injury in Wednesday night's draw at Newport.

City go into the game missing Jamie Thurlbourne and James Fisher through suspension but will welcome Solomon Shields back into the squad after he completed his three match ban.

Referee: Andy Newell (Bristol) assisted by E Hunt and R Cockle.

Mr Newell took charge of City's disastrous opening day defeat at Dorchester were he sent Adam Everitt off.
