CHLOE Beard led the way for City of St Albans Swimming Club with a double gold medal success at the County Championships.

CoStA picked up six gold medals and 16 medals in total with Chloe, aged 12, winning the 100m and 1,500m freestyle. She also took bronze in the 400m individual medley and set seven personal bests.

The other gold medals went to Anne-Marie Dupreez, aged 12, in the 50m breaststroke; Jack Baron, aged 13, in the 50m backstroke; Robbie Lightowler, aged 11, in the 100m individual medley and Matthew Henson, aged 16, in the breaststroke.

Other good performances came from Katie Lightowler, Hannah Yorwerth, Emily Keith, Lauren Winfield, Medelaine Geers, Luke Foster, Zac Horne, Samuel Henson, Chris Stobbart and Daniel Peacock.
