THE Verulamians Chariots Under 14s squad continued their strong form with a win against Tring on Sunday.

A knock on led to a Vees scrum from which their number 8, Jamie McClachlan, scored a well-taken try, converted by skipper Charlie Rainsford.

Vees defended well and added a second try when MacClachlan beat five of the opposition and scored, with the conversion making it 14-0.

Tring replied after half time with two scores and one conversion but Vees fought back well. Lock Daniel Monaghan crossed over the line but the try was disallowed due to a knock on. The Vees stepped up the pressure and quick off loads got Emil Mupemhi dramatically over the line. Although this try was not converted, it produced an air of jubilation and Vees won 19-12.
