YOUTH RUGBY: VERULAMIANS Chariots U14s welcomed Barnet Elizabethan U14s B to town this week.
The Vees were expecting a serious examination of their recent good form but blew away their opposition despite being a man down from the start. Leading 33-0 at half time, Vees completed the rout by winning 59-5 with Josh leading the way with five individual tries and singles from Dan, Johnny, Reece and Tom, the latter also scoring with seven conversions.
In a great team performance, Nick kept the score down with some tenacious tackling at the back whilst Hamish dictated play from the breakdowns. Barnet heads didn’t drop and they played their part in an excellent game which was very well refereed throughout.
