ST ALBANS Centurions complete their foursome of midseason away ties tomorrow (Saturday) when they travel to the Midlands to take on high flying Nottingham Outlaws.

Pre-season, this fixture would have been viewed as a real opportunity to get another win under the belt, however the Outlaws have been in fine form. They currently sit third in the National Conference League Three table due in part to a formidable home record, winning all of their games so far at the Harvey Hadden Stadium, including a close 18-16 victory over top of the table Hemel Stags.

Centurions of course are down at the wrong end of the table and come into this game on the back of a tough loss away to Warrington Wizards.

However, head coach Shane Rampling is in good spirits ahead of the game, he said: “We are looking forward to a better performance this week against Nottingham Outlaws.

“We have a couple of players back and training has been very intense this week and the boys are looking sharp.

“One win would give the boys some much needed confidence as we find our feet in this new competition.”

Prop Michael Hollister agreed this is a lot of room for optimism going into the game.

“We need to learn from our mistakes last week and continue our progression from Hemel the week before. Nottingham play and expansive game, as do we, so it should be an exciting game for the neutral. We definitely feel this is a game we should win,” he said.

Head coach Rampling will have stand off Ben Moore back in the squad this week after he shrugged off a shoulder injury to take full part in training this week.

Hooker Ryan Kambouis should also be available after he left the field last week semi conscious, although the club’s medical staff are still monitoring his condition.

Second row Ben Kay will not travel due to family reasons and loose forward George Stevens is still a week away from being available for selection with ligament damage, however he is now back in light training.

The game kicks off as 3pm at the Harvey Hadden Stadium on Saturday.
