ST ALBANS Centurions have announced a new sponsor for the 2013 season.
The Toumlin Drive outfit’s chairman, Brian Parker, unveiled John McGuinness, the landlord of one of St Albans’ “premier” public houses, The White Swan, in Upper Dagnall Street, as the club’s new sponsor.
Parker said: “We would like to thank John for his backing and generosity. He has given the Cents a four figure sponsorship for this year and we are very grateful indeed.
“John had heard me talking about the club when I popped in to the pub for a pint one evening, and when he heard about the teams that the Cents run at senior, junior and mini level and how we represent St Albans in the National Conference League South, he said he wanted to contribute to the good work the club does.”
The club thanked McGuinnes by presenting him with a first team shirt.
