WITH the backing of the Hertfordshire Police Authority, Centurions turned to young people at youth projects throughout St Albans to design the new St Albans Centurions Rugby Youth Development project logo.
WITH the backing of the Hertfordshire Police Authority, Centurions turned to young people at youth projects throughout St Albans to design the new St Albans Centurions Rugby Youth Development project logo.
Last week, the competition winner, Jordan Langley, together with runners-up Aiden Green and James Galvin, all regulars at the Pioneer Youth Centre on Heathlands Drive in St Albans, received clothing emblazoned with their own unique designs, as well as cash prizes. Centurions' Chairman, Brian Parker said: "We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the entrants and thought Jordan's design to be outstanding, he's a deserved winner."
Centurions' Coach, Shane Rampling, praised the support of the Hertfordshire Police Authority, which also funded out-of-school coaching of rugby league for more than 20 young people as part of the SACRYD Project. Rampling also praised Carol Hawkes, Senior Youth Worker of Youth Connexions Hertfordshire who encouraged the young people at Pioneer to take part.
